Slurry Knife Gate Valve 110

Technical Specifications
- Nominal diameter DN 50-1400
- Nominal pressure PN10-PN16
- Medium temperature -20 °C ... +160 °C
Product Description
Slurry Knife Gate Valve Model 110 is a bidirectional isolation valve for abrasive slurries and process streams with a high solids content. Its full-bore flow path and two replaceable elastomer sleeves are designed for mining, mineral processing, tailings, ash and similar duties.
The stainless steel gate closes between the two sleeves. In the open position, the sleeves form a continuous flow passage; in the closed position, they seal against both sides of the gate. The sleeve compound, gate material and actuator are selected for the process conditions.
Available configurations
- Nominal sizes: DN 50–1400;
- Pressure ratings: PN 10 and PN 16;
- Flow direction: bidirectional shut-off;
- Connections: flanged; EN 1092-1 or ASME flange drilling to suit the selected size and pressure rating;
- Operation: handwheel or gearbox, pneumatic, electric or hydraulic actuation, as specified.
Design features
- Two replaceable elastomer sleeves provide the primary sealing surfaces;
- Full-bore passage in the open position for slurry transport;
- Gate and sleeve construction selected for abrasive particles and repeated isolation duty;
- Sleeve reinforcement and gate construction selected for the specified pressure and duty cycle;
- Sleeves and other wear components can be specified as spare parts.
Typical applications
Ore slurry, tailings, mineral concentrate, thickener underflow, ash slurry and other abrasive process streams. Model 110 is intended for open/closed isolation; continuous throttling requires a valve specifically selected for control service.
Materials and sleeve selection
| Component | Typical options | Selection basis |
|---|---|---|
| Body | EN-GJS-400-15 ductile iron; ASTM A216 WCB or ASTM A351 CF8/CF8M by specification | Pressure, environment and project requirements |
| Gate | Stainless steel 316; 304 or Duplex 2205 by specification | Wear and corrosion conditions |
| NR sleeves | Natural rubber | Abrasive water-based slurries |
| NBR sleeves | Nitrile rubber | Streams containing mineral oils or hydrocarbons |
| EPDM sleeves | Ethylene propylene rubber | Selected water-based or chemical media |
Maximum working temperature depends on the sleeve compound, medium and pressure. Flange dimensions, face-to-face length and leakage test criteria are specified on the approved drawing and datasheet for each configuration.
